This is the story of our allotment – Plot 5 (P5), a 10 rod heavy clay plot with trees at one end and terraced into a steep hillside.

P5 had led a very unsettled life, constantly abandoned by her owners and left with only the waist high grass and weeds to keep her company, she was just too much hard work. Many attempts to tame her had come and gone leaving an uneven, bumpy, uncultivated and weed ridden mess which only the foolhardy novice would eagerly take on… that is where we came in
